My name is Jayne and I have been involved in showing animals for some 25 years. When I first started it was showing my Afghan Hound, I then went on to show Chinese Crested dogs (Hairless and Powder Puffs) with some success. Then my circumstances changed and that's when CAVIES came under the Azhaaris banner.
My first piggers were crossbreeds that won me some best pet rosettes, I then had the opportunity to acquire some Argentes (gold/lilacs) they were still in the RV section then - I did well with those winning a few challenges and a couple of best RV awards - after going to a few local shows I saw and fell in love with longhaired guinea pigs. All varieties appeal to me (think it must be due to having Afghan Hounds and long flowing coats!!!!)
I live in Brownhills which is mid way between the cathedral city of Lichfield and the beautiful countryside of Cannock Chase. The icing on the cake is that at the back of the house is Chasewater (for those of you not in the know, this is where powerboat racing is held every summer). The biggest plus though is the Stafford County Show which is a brilliant day out and a CAVY SECTION TOO. It's about 20 mins drive for me to get to the show. Another plus about living here is that I am well placed for the M6 and can get almost anywhere from this motorway (eg M5, M54, M1)
I have all the breeds of longhair cavies, Peruvian, Coronet, Sheltie, Merino, Texel and Alpaca and some interesting pets too. My caviary is not large, numbers hover at around 30ish+ and I try to breed quality.
The "Azhaaris stud" name is registered with the National Cavy Club of which i am a member,other clubs i am with are as follows:- the Peruvian Club,;Coronet,Sheltie ,Texel & Merino Club; Birmingham Cavy Club ,Staffs cavy club ,Warwickshire cavy club and the R.V.(rare varieties) club
